There are many animals that pollinate flowers in our backyards. The list of the most important critters that perform this critical task, includes European honeybees, native solitary bees, ruby-throated hummingbirds, bumblebees, butterflies and moths.
You might be surprised to learn the most important pollinators are our native bees. It seems there are 500+ species of these valuable insects in Georgia. Some 90% are solitary bees.

Thanks. I have been trying to attract pollinators and other beneficial insects–both categories. Interesting too, at least for our yard, is the reference to “back” yard. Our back yard is nearly all shade, has canopy, mid-story and understory trees and shrubs, and spring ephemerals of course. Our front yard, on the other hand does have some sun exposure and that is where the flowers are, mostly, and the attraction to the beneficial insects. The lawn has been gone nearly 20 years, so our “backyard” habitat is in the front yard. Rick
Thanks for you comment. I suspect others enhance front yard habitat for wildlife too. Often writers use the term backyard as a work tnat encompasses front yards too. Now that you have
advised me of your situation, I will try to use the term yards instead of backyards.
